All the royal children sit in a different room during Christmas lunch

Olivia Hayes

Ever wonder how the royals do Christmas?

Yeah, so do we.

It must be grand and luxurious and like something out of a movie, right?

Well, Mike Tindall who is Zara Tindall’s husband (she’s the Queen’s grand daughter) took part in JOE’s House of Rugby and gave some goss to the hosts about what goes down at the palace during Christmas.

Apparently, dozens of people are invited to a pre-Christmas lunch and the kids have to eat dinner in a separate room.

Mike said: “This is the other one, the family lunch, there must be about 70 of us there–there are seven tables and then the kiddies have their own little one in a different room.

“I was on Prince Charles’ table. It was lovely, really good.”

Cool, chill.

He also told them what happens on Christmas Day: “Christmas Day is a little more quiet because it’s actually a cold buffet because they give everyone the day off, and their big day is Christmas Eve.”

They also all watch the Queen’s speech together “with a little glass of something.”

This year marked the 75th anniversary of D-Day and in today’s Queen’s Christmas Broadcast Her Majesty reflects on the commemorations. “For the Seventy-Fifth Anniversary of that decisive battle, in a true spirit of reconciliation, those who had formerly been sworn enemies came together in friendly commemorations either side of the Channel, putting past differences behind them. “By being willing to put past differences behind us and move forward together, we honour the freedom and democracy once won for us at so great a cost.” . Speaking about the life of Jesus and importance of reconciliation The Queen said: “…How small steps taken in faith and in hope can overcome long-held differences and deep-seated divisions to bring harmony and understanding… The path, of course, is not always smooth, and may at times this year have felt quite bumpy, but small steps can make a world of difference.” . Seems very luxurious, indeed.
