Queen's corgis

It’s a tough life.

We all know that life as a member of the royal family has many luxuries.

The Queen and her entire family live a life of privilege, flying on private planes and wearing designer clothes.

And, apparently the life of a royal pet isn’t a whole lot different.

We all know how much the Queen loves her corgis, they’ve become her iconic sidekicks over the years.

But we had no idea just HOW much…

According to a documentary about the royals, the Queen’s corgis basically live the dream.

“The Queen expects all of her corgis to be accorded the full five-star treatment, and woe betide any courtier who falls short of that mark,” says royal historian Rafe Heydel-Mankoo.

“They travel in chauffeured limousines, they are escorted onto private jets and helicopters.”

Casual.

“They sleep in a special room at Buckingham Palace, where they are placed in wicker baskets raised above the ground so that they aren’t chilled by draughts,” he added.

Apparently, there’s one part of the Queen’s day that is most important when it comes to the corgis.

According to the documentary: “The Queen’s major stipulation is that they be served fresh food at all times.”

“A servant brings a tray with the silver bowls and the food, which is freshly cooked. They don’t have tinned dog food.”

“The Queen was very very cross recently. She discovered that their food had been frozen. She didn’t like that at all.”

In our next life, we’d like to come back as one of the Queen’s corgis.
