EastEnders star Samantha Womack reveals she has breast cancer

EastEnders actress and theatre star Samantha Womack has announced she has breast cancer.

The actress shared the health update after paying tribute to the late Olivia Newton-John.

Alongside a photo of her and the Grease actress, the 49-year-old confirmed her diagnosis.

She shared, “This was the most magical of evenings. Olivia and Chloe had come to see Grease in London and we had dinner together afterward.

“I was so excited and in awe, she was my childhood.”

Alongside the tribute to the late actress, Womack also announced that she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

“I now start my own battle with this disease and am left feeling deeply moved,” she confirmed.

Olivia Newton-John sadly passed away at her home in California yesterday, August 8th.

Her husband announced the heartbreaking news in a moving statement.

“Dame Olivia Newton-John passed away peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends.”

“We ask that everyone please respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.”

“Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer.

The Grease actress revealed she had breast cancer for the first time in 1992.

Doctors confirmed that the cancer had returned in 2013 and then later in 2017. Doctors found a tumour in Newton-John’s lower back.

Throughout her life, the actress raised vital funds and awareness for those suffering from breast cancer.

Tributes have been pouring in since news of her passing emerged last night. John Travolta, Kylie Minogue, and Mariah Carey have also paid tribute to Olivia Newton-John.
