Saoirse Ronan receives BAFTA nomination for Little Women

A well deserved nod, tbf.

Saoirse Ronan has received a BAFTA nomination for Best Leading Actress for her role in Little Women.

The Irish actor plays Jo March in the 2019 Greta Gerwig film adaptation, a movie that has received widespread critical acclaim since its release late last year.

This if the fifth BAFTA nomination Ronan has received over the course of her career, following her roles in Atonement, The Lovely Bones, Brooklyn, and Lady Bird. 

Ronan has also been nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actress in Little Women. 

Elsewhere, Joker has been leading the nominations at this year’s BAFTAs with a considerable 11 nods.

It is followed closely by The Irishman and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood both with 10 nominations, and British director Sam Mendes’ 1917 receiving nine.

The BAFTAs will take place in London on February 2.
