She's spoken out.

It was the rekindled romance that shocked fans, split up families, and sent social media gossip accounts into overdrive.

Well, sort of.

It did come out of nowhere though, so when those pics of Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber cycling around the place on bikes and looking delighted emerged, people were confused.

Or very emotional.

There was no in between.

Lucky for them then that Selena has only gone and explained exactly why it’s happening.

The star spoke to Billboard magazine about her transplant surgery, the music industry, and the pressures that come with being so high profile.

She also said a little something about getting back with Justin.

When interviewer Brooke Mazurak asks Selena about Bieber, she says: “I cherish people who have really impacted my life.”

The Bad Liar singer then went into some detail about the romance saying:

“I’m 25. I’m not 18, or 19, or 20. I cherish people who have really impacted my life.

“So maybe before, it could have been forcing something that wasn’t right. But that doesn’t mean caring for someone ever goes away. And (that goes for) people in general.”

Selena also said that she and The Weeknd ended things on very good terms.

She even went so far as to say that they are, in fact, “best friends.”

Lovely.

(A few weeks back, it became apparent that Selena had unfollowed The Weeknd on Instagram but sure look, who follows their mates on social media anyway?)

The singer also spoke candidly about her recent kidney transplant and how it affected her body image.

She said that, at first, she was uncomfortable with the changes to her body.

“It was really hard in the beginning. I remember looking at myself in the mirror completely naked and thinking about all the things that I used to bitch about and just asking, “Why?”

“I had someone in my life for a very long time who pointed out all the things that I didn’t feel great about with myself.

“When I look at my body now, I just see life. There are a million things I can do — lasers and creams and all that stuff — but I’m OK with it.”
