Maya experienced a stillbirth at 38 weeks last December.
Maya Vander has talked about how difficult it was to see herself pregnant on the latest season of Selling Sunset, after she experienced a stillbirth at 38 weeks when filming stopped.
In an interview with Metro, Maya explained that she filmed the show until she was 22 weeks pregnant, and then stopped to take it easy for the remainder of her pregnancy. As she approached her due date, she lost the baby.
She told the publication: “Then I had to watch the show. And I’m very much pregnant there and I don’t have the baby. It wasn’t as easy to watch.
“I wasn’t sitting there sobbing with tears, I just kind of sat and watched the whole season as a whole, not focussing on just me being pregnant. Was it easy? No, but I watched it and managed to survive.”

She went on to say that she is “still carrying the trauma”, but added that Netflix and the cast and crew of Selling Sunset were very supportive of her.
She added that she is “still dealing” with the loss, but acknowledged how coming to terms with it gets easier over time.
Maya, who is mum to a son Aiden, and a daughter Elle, first announced that she had a stillbirth last year.
In a post on Instagram, she shared a picture of an empty baby basket and wrote: “Yesterday was the hardest day of my life. I had a still birth at 38 weeks. I always heard of it but never imagined I’ll be part of the statistics. Instead of delivering a baby, I get to go home with a memory box… I do not wish this on anyone.”
She added: “Given I share my pregnancies in the show I knew I’ll have to post about this and avoid the ‘when is your due date’ question. You will always be in our heart baby Mason.”
