Shayne Ward Heading For The Corrie Cobbles

Shayne Ward, he of the pop tunes If That's Okay With You and No You Hang Up, has been approached to join the cast of Coronation Street. Manchester native Shane rose to fame when he won the 2005 series of the X Factor and according to reports today, Corrie bosses are keen to get him on board. A source told the Daily Star Sunday: "The bosses think Shayne would be perfect for the show. "They’ve made moves to try and get him on board and have made it clear they are open to discussions". The 30-year-old is friends with a number of Coronation Street cast members including Samia Ghadie (Maria) and Hayley Tamaddon (Andrea). Shane performing in The War of the Worlds “He’s made it clear he’s definitely interested. Talks are ongoing at this stage. "They were keen to find out if Shayne would be up for going into TV acting full-time. Nothing is confirmed at this point but it is looking hopeful" continued the source. Shayne recently took part in a UK tour for the musical version of The War of the Worlds. It's definitely a little random but we would have to tune in and see how he gets on in Weatherfield...
