Soap stars Liam Fox and Nicole Barber-Lane have announced that they have split up after 16 years of marriage.
The couple, who play Dan Spencer in Emmerdale and Myra McQueen in Hollyoaks, released a statement this weekend, confirming that their relationship has ended.
“It is with much sadness that we confirm the end of our marriage, though our family unit remains strong. We’ll always love and respect each other and are united by our children and family remaining at the centre of our lives,” they said.
“They will continue to live together for the forseeable future as they enjoy the precious last few years of their children being in the family home.”
The pair have a ten-year-old son, while Nicole also has a daughter from a previous relationship.
The couple met while training as teachers and married in 1999.
