Sarah Snook, the star of HBO’s hugely popular satire series Succession has secretly wed her partner, Australian comedian Dave Lawson.

The pair tied the knot back in February, but Snook has only addressed it now. At the time of their nuptials, very few people even knew they had been dating.

The two became friends way back in 2014, and while they remained platonic for years, their relationship has since gone from strength to strength.

The actress shared that the pandemic served as a major catalyst in their relationship.

Sarah, who plays fan favourite Siobhan “Shiv” Roy in Succession, recently opened up to Vogue about their wedding.

She told the fashion magazine: “At the beginning of the pandemic last year, I got locked down in Melbourne with one of my best mates and we fell in love.

“We’ve been friends since 2014, lived together, traveled together, always excited to see each other, but totally platonic.”

She added: “We’ve just never been single at the same time.”

Sarah then shared that she proposed to Dave in October 2020, and then got married in the back garden of their home in Brooklyn earlier this year.

She told Vogue: “It’s been a ride. There’s so much heartache and sadness in the world, but on a personal level, I’ve been very fortunate.”

She added: “There’s a really lovely grace in that without the pandemic, we might not have ended up together so quickly.”

Last week, the highly anticipated third season of Succession enjoyed its premiere in New York City. The Australian actress showed up on the red carpet in a stunning black gown, which she paired with an engagement ring on her left ring finger – a dead giveaway many failed to notice.

The HBO series follows the dysfunctional Roy family, who own a hotly contested media empire.
