Tara Kumar announces departure from RTÉ's 2FM
"I am so grateful for all of the incredible artists I've had the honour of playing, interviewing and discovering."
Radio DJ Tara Kumar has announced that she is leaving RTÉ's 2FM after six years.
Tara shared the news by posting a statement on Twitter.
It read: "After 6 years in the building and 3 years on the new music show I've decided I am leaving @RTE2fm.
"The show has been my constant for the last few years and I am so grateful for all of the incredible artists I've had the honour of playing, interviewing and discovering.
"Ireland is so full of so much talent and I'm so proud of how thriving the music industry is today."
She continued: "Music has always and will continue to forever be my first love."

Tara also took the opportunity to thank "every single person" who has "trusted" her over the last three years. She then gave a glimpse into her next move.
"So now, it's time for a new adventure in London," she wrote.
The DJ then joked about how her friends "refuse" to have a leaving party for her as they know that she'll "be home" every five minutes.
Dan Healy, the head of RTÉ's 2FM wished her well, saying: "We are very sad Tara is leaving 2FM and yet very excited for her as she makes her way in London. Tara’s show on 2FM was a must-listen for anyone curious about new and good music. Tara is a taste-maker and will fly wherever she is."
Tara's nightly music shows have been a beloved staple of the radio station, and her final show will air on Wednesday 28 September. 2FM have said that they will announced her replacement in a couple of weeks.
