The Queen just gave Meghan and Harry the most INSANE gift

Holy shit!

So when you think of a wedding gift, where does your mind go?

A nice set of wine glasses, a new hoover, maybe even a snazzy blenders.

What about a giant new house?

Not the norm, I know, but that is exactly what Meghan and Harry got as a wedding gift from The Queen.

Rumour has it that the newlyweds have been gifted Adelaide Cottage, which is located in Windsor.

The cottage is the former home of Princess Margaret’s former lover,  Peter Townsend.

Built in 1831 as a retreat for William IV’s wife Queen Adelaide, it has been home to a number of other Royal dignitaries over the years.

Most recently Simon Rhodes, son of the Queen’s cousin and best friend Margaret Rhodes, lived in the cottage, but he sadly passed away in 2016.

But naturally, Townsend is the most notable former resident, who lived in the cottage with his wife Rosie Marchioness Camden in 1945.

Adelaide Cottage was renovated in 2015, and has been called ‘picturesque’ by the heritage organisation Historic England.

The private property is very near The Queen’s own private apartments and only a few miles from the Guards Polo Club in Windsor Great Park.

One of Harry’s favourite spots!

A source spoke to The Mirror, and said: ‘There are seven gated entrances and exits to Windsor Castle so the newlyweds could come and go without worrying about being photographed.’
