The Rock says he’s ‘one lucky SOB’ to be able to surprise his mum with an extravagant present

Amy Nolan

Dwayne Johnson bought his mum a house… as you do.

He may be an imposing 6ft 5in and 118kg, but ‘The Rock’ has certainly shown he has a softer side in cute videos with his children and romantic gestures to his wife.

The 46-year-old has again shown he’s a softie at heart with an incredibly kind gift for his mum on Christmas Day.

In an adorable video posted on Instagram, Dwayne presented his mum with what he dubbed a “Willy Wonka Golden Ticket” because she gets to pick any home she wants, anywhere she wants.

This one felt good. Surprise! Bought my mom a new home for Christmas. All our lives growing up we lived in little apartments all across the country. Lived like gypsies on the road from one state to another. The first home my parents ever lived in was the one I bought for them in 1999. They divorced about 5yrs later and as with life, stuff happens and things got a little complicated. Since then I always made sure my mom and dad have everything they’ll ever need – houses, cars etc. But the house this time is a special one and the timing is very meaningful. I told her to treat this card like it’s “Willy Wonka’s Golden Ticket” because she gets to choose any home she wants – anywhere she wants. I always say, if you got a good mama, then you gotta pretty good shot at becoming a decent human being. And somehow, somewhere along the line I became one lucky SOB to be able to make stuff like this happen. Merry Christmas Ma and WOOOHOOO enjoy your new home. Dwanta ??

In the caption explaining the story behind the extravagant gift, Dwayne gave an insight into his humble upbringing saying:

“This one felt good. Surprise! Bought my mom a new home for Christmas. All our lives growing up we lived in little apartments all across the country. Lived like gypsies on the road from one state to another.”

The Rampage actor further explained that he bought his parents their first house in 1991 but following their divorce five years later, “things got a little complicated”.

Adding some sage wisdom, he revealed immense gratitude for his mom saying:

“I always say, if you got a good mama, then you gotta pretty good shot at becoming a decent human being.”

And in a funny quip continued:

“Somehow, somewhere along the line I became one lucky SOB to be able to make stuff like this happen.”

Ah lads, that’s the kind of Christmas good news story we love… you might even say Dwayne rocks.
