He might be carving out his Hollywood career with ease but Jay Baruchel’s personal life isn’t going so well as he has apparently split from his actress fiancée Alison Pill.
The actor who has had roles in Knocked Up, Tropic Thunder and Cosmopolis fuelled speculation of a break-up last month when he tweeted: “I won’t be on twitter for awhile gang. Getting dumped rules.”

Us Weekly confirmed today that he and his other half Alison, who is also a rising star having appeared in Midnight in Paris and Milk, have in fact called off their engagement and gone their separate ways.
The couple, who got engaged back in 2010 after meeting on the set of Goon, had been planning on tying the knot last September but ended up postponing the date due to their busy schedules.

"He wanted her up there more often, but she really likes Newsroom (an American television show) and the opportunities that are there for her.”
At this rate we’ll be surprised if there's any celebrity couples still together by the end of the year!
