Despite having a lot of things in common, these two X Factor stars appear to be at war at the minute.
James Arthur and Matt Cardle have both won the show and are less pop than the normal contestant but that hasn’t exactly united them.
It all stems from Matt telling the X Factor winner that while he is talented, he is yet to sell two million records like him.
Matt has said a few things that have sparked a reaction from James.
While this is a statement that Matt has denied via Twitter, explaining that his words were twisted, it has certainly riled James up the wrong way as he has retaliated.
He wrote: “2 million returned and now live in the bargain bin at asda give it up the tunes are brutal.. the desperation for press is embarrassing [sic].”
The Impossible singer also added: “Jealousy is a weak emotion.. Learnt that in the real world where I lived for quite some time.. [sic].” Touché!
The singer is currently enjoying the success of his debut single Impossible.
Aside from this spat, Matt is currently promoting his new album Fires (convenient we know!) while James is enjoying the success of his first single and encouraging people to get behind the Hillsborough song.
He tweeted: “Platinum single baby! Not a bad start :) thanks to all who bought it now make sure the hillsbrough tune is number 1! #LOVE [sic].”
Doesn’t really sound like someone who wants or needs the publicity to sell records now, does it? Matt, on the other hand…
