“They’ll Either Like Me Or They Won’t” – Dolly Parton Reveals Reservations About Glastonbury Performance

"I think I can handle it."

She’s no shrinking violet but country star Dolly Parton has revealed that she has some reservations ahead of her performance at Glastonbury.

With other headliners including Arcade Fire and Metallica, the iconic singer said the festival would be her “biggest show yet” but vowed to win over any skeptical revellers at Worthy Farm.

“I’ve never done a show that big. I know I’m a different type of artist than they’re used to,” she said.

“I suppose they’ll either like me or they won’t, but I’m going to give it all I’ve got. I think I can handle it.”

The festival runs from June 25th to 29th and while weather conditions may not be quite as reliable as the US, Parton said that a little rain and mud won’t faze her.

“I grew up on a farm, and [there was] worse stuff than mud that we had to walk around in – so we’re used to all that!”

“I’ll probably wear my galoshes up to the stage… but I’m going to sing in my high heels – mud or no mud!”
