News reports yesterday confirmed that Cate Blanchett and husband Andrew Upton had adopted a baby girl.
Although it was initially thought that the little one was named Vivienne, the couple’s publicist has since spoken to E! News and corrected this misinformation.
Edith Vivian Patricia Upton is her name and we think it’s rather lovely.
Baby Edith has three big brothers, Dashiell John (13) Roman Robert (10) and Ignatius Martin (6).
Speaking about motherhood in 2010, Cate told Times Online that her job has to work for her family and she has gained so much from them.
“All I can think about is what I’ve gained.
“I’ve had to say no to things because I was pregnant, but then I had a baby, so it didn’t seem like a sacrifice. I’m quite fatalistic — if something doesn’t happen, then something else will” said Cate.
