Today FM's Paula MacSweeney welcomes baby boy
"Welcome, Mac Denis Donnelly. We adore you!"
Radio presenter Paula MacSweeney and her partner Aidan have welcomed their third child together.
Taking to Instagram, Paula shared the news that her baby boy was born yesterday, and told her followers he is named after his great grandad, as the two share the same birthday.
Paula and Aidan already share two children – one boy, Roddy and a little girl, Pixie.
Last night, Paula popped up a photo on her Instagram in which she's holding her new baby – baby Mac – against her chest, with husband Aidan in the background.
In the caption, she beamed about the family's new addition.
"Hey there, baby Mac!" she wrote. "Our gorgeous baby boy was born earlier on today and we are so in love! He is divine!"
Paula continued: "He's named after my beloved grandad who we called Pop but others know him as Denis MacSweeney. It would have been his birthday today! What are the odds?"
The proud mum added: "Welcome, Mac Denis Donnelly. We adore you!"
In the comments, Paula was met with many messages of love and congratulations.
Muireann O'Connell wrote: "Congratulations to the family of 5! Hope you're doing ok."
Ireland's Fittest Family host Mairead Ronan penned: "Congratulations P and A .. Welcome to the world Denis x."
The official Instagram account for Today FM also sent their best wishes.
"Congrats Paula from the whole Today FM team," the message read. "He is perfect."
Paula announced that she was expecting a baby in March by sharing a picture of herself in a wetsuit.
"We'll be moving from man-to-man to zone defence later on this year," she wrote at the time. "And I'm so glad the water is getting a little bit milder because this is the only wetsuit that has fit me since around week 9."
