Nicole Scherzinger. Cheryl Tweedy. Arguably never the bestest of mates.

A situation unlikely to change anytime soon... as the US singer has been lately hanging out with Ms Tweedy's former husband, Jean Bernard Fernandez Versini.

In short, we're going to file this under: oh-so random celebrity friendships... albeit a celebrity friendship that 36-year-old Monsieur FV was happy to highlight with not one but two pics (posted at 4am and 9am on Sunday) on his Instagram page. The pair had been partying in London - and in response some of his fan went for the 'oh you guys would make a FAB couple' line. Meanwhile, others reckoned the duo were unashamedly shit-stirring and trying to piss off Cheryl.

It seems that Nicole and JB themselves are opting for the 'just friends' defence, with a source telling Metro.co.uk: "Nicole was out with a group of friends after filming X Factor. JB is a friend of a friend and was introduced to Nicole." Ms Scherzinger, 39, and Cheryl, 34, have never been close. Indeed, in her autobiography Ms Tweedy went on to describe their 2012 introduction as "awkward". That and Simon Cowell admitted that he fired Nicole once Cheryl returned to the X Factor in 2014, admitting that he "didn’t think the two of them would work well together".
