Two and a Half Men star Conchata Ferrell dies, aged 77

Two and a Half Men star Conchata Ferrell has passed away, aged 77. The Hollywood actor, who was best known for her role as Berta the housekeeper in the popular sitcom, died on October 12 in California's Sherman Oaks Hospital following cardiac arrest complications. Deadline reports that she passed away peacefully, surrounded by her friends and family. Ferrell, who received two Emmy nominations for her role in Two and a Half Men as well as a nod for her part in LA Law, began her career as a stage actor in the Circle Repertory Theatre off-Broadway. She received several awards for her work on stage before moving to TV, where she also appeared in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, ER, Good Times, and Grace and Frankie. Ferrell joined Two and a Half Men in season one as a recurring character only to have her appearances steadily increased on the series as time went on. Berta, your housekeeping was a tad suspect, your ‘people’ keeping was perfect.”
