“She was a very, very special person.”

The Saturdays star Una Healy has shared another tribute to her late friend Lynsey Bennett.

Lynsey, who was one of the women affected by the Irish CervicalCheck scandal, passed away last week at the age of 34. She had been sick with cancer for many years.

Una, who had been good friends with Lynsey, spoke about her on yesterday’s Six O’Clock Show on Virgin Media One.

“I just miss her so much already,” she said. “She was a very, very special person.”

The pop star explained how they became friends over the past few years, and some of her “fondest” memories were spent with Lynsey, including a more recent trip to Disneyland with their children.

Una also commended Lynsey’s outlook on life, and sent her love to her two daughters.

She said: “She lived her life to the full and my heart goes out to her family, her friends, and especially to her two little girls Hailee and Zoë.”

Una was among the first to pay tribute to Lynsey following her death last week.

In a post on Instagram, she said that she was “heartbroken beyond words.”

“I am so grateful for all the special memories we made together. Always in my heart, forever in my soul.

“Life is so precious and you lived and loved it to the fullest,” the singer continued.

“Rest in Peace my beautiful friend.”

The singer added, “My thoughts are with your family and friends especially your babies Zoë and Hailee.”

Lynsey’s funeral took place St John’s Church, Battery Road, in Longford.
