Lauren Platt may just have secured herself the favoured spot amongst the judge’s on this year’s X-Factor, wowing the arena with her own rendition of a Whitney Houston track.
The 16-year old performed her own arrangement of Houston’s classic hit ‘How Will I Know’, scoring her four yeses from the judges.
The Essex girl was congratulated by the four judges, with Cheryl commending the teen on the ‘smartest audition’ so far:
“That was the smartest audition we’ve had so far. What a smart move to take a well-known song like that and make it current.”
Mel B wasn’t quite so graceful, telling the teen:
“I’m so excited right now I could slap you.”
Lauren now moves onto the next stage of the competition.
