'We Are Choosing To Live' - Celine Dion Breaks Down As She Opens Up About Husband's Cancer Battle
Celine Dion has spoken out about her husband's battle with throat cancer, revealing that she has to feed him through a tube.
The singer temporarily ended her Las Vegas residency last August after René Angélil was diagnosed with the disease for a second time, saying that she "wanted to devote every ounce of my strength and energy to my husband's healing".
The Think Twice star is now set to return to the stage but revealed that the couple have endured a harrowing battle to come to terms with his condition.
"He can't eat, so I feed him. He's got a feeding tube. I have to feed him three times a day. I do this myself. And so I feed my husband and I feed my kids," she said.
The pair have been married for over 20 years and Dion said that they are remaining positive despite their difficulties, adding "we are taking it one day at a time. But we are choosing to live".
She also revealed that she is looking forward to returning to her "emotional" return to the stage this August.
"It is very emotional for me, and I'm anticipating the emotions to grow even more as the date gets closer. It's very touching. Every night is a new show... I promise there will be high, happy notes."
