Wes Nelson has posted on Instagram for the first time since his split with Megan

It's all a bit bizarre...

Yesterday morning, Megan Barton-Hanson issued a statement on Instagram Stories confirming that her relationship with Wes Nelson had come to an end. In what the Love Island contestant described as an "incredibly hard decision" in a lengthy statement she said:

"We have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate."

Until now Wes has remained silent about the breakup, but today posted on Instagram Stories seemingly making light of the situation.

  He posted two memes fans had sent him which alluded to Megan's statement in which she said:

"We are parents first and foremost to one incredibly wonderful hamster and we ask for his and our space and privacy to be respected at this difficult time. "We haven't really conducted our relationship that privately and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and co-parent we will be able to continue in the same manner."

Emmm?! While Wes has not yet spoken about the split and the reasons behind it are still unclear, it is likely that it has to do with the tension Wes' appearance on Dancing On Ice has caused in their relationship. Indeed, Megan failed to see eye-to-eye with Wes' professional skating partner Vanessa Bauer and this lead to Megan's now infamous Instagram post slating the pro skater. We can hardly keep up with them, but just hope for the hamster's sake, they do indeed remain amicable.
