Brian O’ Driscoll, one of the greatest ever rugby players in the world received the Freedom of the City of Dublin accolade alongside the incredible Father Peter McVerry last night.
Just one week after ending an international career with a Six Nations win in Paris, BOD was celebrated for his inspiration and individuality.
The Fr. Peter McVerry Trust uploaded a touching tribute to the famous no.13 celebrating O’ Driscoll’s career and what he has meant to the people of Ireland.
Fr. McVerry, who has been an instrumental figure campaigning for the rights of homeless in Dublin for over 30 years, speaks about the Irish captain, with many other personalities joining in.
Our favourite moment will have to be Jamie Heaslip’s sly joke at O’Driscoll’s age. Well played, Jamie. Well played.
Brian, in case you hadn’t already figured it out by now the country loves you.
