This is the reason why Queen Elizabeth didn’t feature in Charles’ birthday portrait

Interesting.

Yesterday evening, Clarence House released two official portraits to celebrate Prince Charles’ 70th birthday.

In the photos, we see the gorgeous seven-month-old Prince Louis in his mum’s arms, next to William.

We also see Meghan Markle looking at something, laughing away to herself, standing next to her husband.

Shout out to Harry btw, who looks very hot in the portrait!

At the forefront of the pictures, we see Charles and Camilla, who are cosying up to their grandchildren, Charlotte and George.

The pictures are gorgeous, of course, but sadly the Queen didn’t make an appearance.

WHY?

The meaning is significant, as Queen Elizabeth is working towards creating a new monarchy.

This year, the Queen relinquished a number of important duties to her Meghan, who has now taken over her role in the Young Leaders program.

The Queen is passing the baton to the other members of the family, so perhaps this picture is making a statement.
