Sam Claflin and Laura Haddock have announced their separation.

The couple, who have been married for six years, shared the news on Instagram Stories this evening, sharing the same statement, word for word.

“Laura and I have decided to legally separate. We will move forward with nothing but love, friendship and a deep respect for one another whilst we continue to raise our family together.

“We won’t be commenting on this further. Thank you in advance for your support and respecting our privacy at this time. Both of us x”.

They married in 2011 after dating for two years.

Sam and Laura have two children, a son born in 2015 and a daughter who arrived in January of last year.

They have always been private about their family life and didn’t reveal the gender of their son Pip until he was six months old.

Sam, who is best known for his role in The Hunger Games film series, is due to appear in upcoming season five of Peaky Blinders while Inbetweeners actress Laura is to star in BBC drama Capture.
