Now, you’d think that a massive pop star like Katy Perry would be a fan of certain, ahem, comforts, but apparently the singer has no problem ‘roughing it’ when she’s performing.

The Irish Independent reports that Katy has admitted that she has to use a bucket instead of a toilet backstage on tour when she feels nature calling.

Why does Katy have to downgrade from a throne to a bucket? Apparently she’s just way too busy with costume changes and psyching herself up to go and find an actual toilet when she needs to, well…pop a squat. Lovely, right? We know.

But that’s not all, Katy also revealed that she tends to feel pretty sick before she goes on stage to perform for her fans. So god only knows what ends up in that bucket – hey, we’re just saying what you’re all thinking…

“You walk on stage feeling like Mary Poppins but really you’ve just had your skin zipped, peed in a bucket and been dry-heaving over the trash can,” said Katy, speaking to The Sun.

At least Katy is honest. And it’s nice to see that even the seasoned professionals still get nervous when they have to stand up and sing in front of thousands of people.

Katy finished her California Dreams tour back in January and there are rumours abound that she’s planning on taking a few months off in order to rest up and take stock of her life following her divorce from comedian Russell Brand.

Katy’s divorce from Russell was officially finalised last month, although since her split, Katy has been romantically linked to Rob Ackroyd (the guitarist for Florence + The Machine), male model Baptiste Giabiconi and, more recently, the infamous John Mayer.
