Zac Efron fans defend actor after trolls accuse him of getting plastic surgery

Zac Efron said his different look is because of an accident that damaged his jaw

Trolls accused the actor of underdoing plastic surgery that turned out wrong, despite Efron squashing the rumours multiple times.

After appearing at the premiere, trolls mocked his appearance on social media, with some even claiming he looked unrecognisable.

However, his fans were quick to defend the '17 Again' actor and reiterated why he looked a little different than before.

One wrote: "Zac Efron broke his jaw and had surgery but all of you keep making fun of his face. Get over it, leave him alone."

"People need to leave Zac Efron alone. his face is like that because of a really bad accident," another said.

"People need to shut up about Zac Efron and his face. Leave the dude alone. He's been through enough and mocking him is disgusting," another stressed.

Efron addressed the plastic surgery rumours in 2022 when he spoke to Men's Health.

He explained that he slipped in his house and hit his face off the granite corner of a fountain. The incident was so bad that Efron was knocked unconscious and had to undergo surgery to repair the damage.

He said his "chin bone was hanging off his face" after the incident.

Efron said the rumours are unpleasant, but he stays off social media for the sake of his mental health.

"If I valued what other people thought of me to the extent that they may think I do,” he said. “I definitely wouldn’t be able to do this work."
