Zayn Malik Breaks Silence With First Tweet Since Leaving One Direction

Zayn Malik has kept a low profile since announcing his decision to quit One Direction but the 22-year-old made a return to social media today. Posting on Twitter, the singer thanked "everyone who's been there for" him over the last couple of weeks.

On Saturday, Zayn attended the Asian Awards and accepted an award for his contribution to music. He made sure to thank his ex-bandmates saying: "I'd like to take this moment to thank four of the best guys I've ever met. Everything I've done with them will stay with me for the rest of my life."
