“It’s such a shame it’s been such a big part of the show.”

Faye has said she is “embarrassed” by her outburst at now-boyfriend Teddy on Love Island.

The second runner-up has said she hasn’t watched the controversial scenes back, while Teddy has said he felt “devastated that I hurt her.”

Chatting about their time in the villa on Lorraine the couple spoke about the fight, for which Ofcom received over 25,000 complaints, confirming that they have since “moved on.”

“We understand each other quite well, so I understand why she would be annoyed receiving the postcard,” Teddy said.

“It’s a surreal moment that would never happen in the real world. I was devastated that I hurt her.”

Faye went on to say: “I haven’t watched it back. We were living it, we were in the moment, we know exactly what happened and obviously it’s not nice for anyone to see.

“I’m embarrassed, I’ve apologised on more than one occasion and we’re over it as a couple and it made us stronger.

“It’s such a shame it’s been such a big part of the show.”

The episode, which saw Faye shout at Teddy and call him a liar following the villa’s Movie Night challenge, received the most complaints ever recorded for Love Island.

Faye later apologised to Teddy and the pair made up, eventually making their relationship official on their final date. The couple finished third overall.

Following the argument, Teddy’s family said on Instagram that they could see the pair going the distance if Faye’s apology had been “genuine.”

A fan asked: “How are Teddy’s family feeling about the way Faye treated him?” His family responded: “We have to bear in mind, we’re not shown the entirety of every situation.

“Yes we don’t agree with how Faye reacted but if her apology was genuine then we see potential growth. We are happy Teddy conducted himself as a true gentleman would.”
