When the new Love Island cast was announced, Gemma Owen immediately made headlines for being footballer Michael Owen’s daughter, but it turns out she’s not the only one with a famous connection heading into the villa.
Eastenders legend Patsy Palmer has posted her best wishes for Luca Bish as he heads into the villa, as it turns out the two are friends.
Sharing a snap posted by Luca’s mum, Patsy wrote on Instagram: “Omg @lucabish all grown up and going on @loveisland we cannot wait to watch you.
“You will smash it so beautiful, kind & funny. YAY from your Malibu crew.”
Patsy lives in LA and obviously got to know Luca during the time he spent over there.
But this is only the first of his famous connections as he previously dated YouTube and Strictly star Saffron Barker.
Showing her ex the same kind of love, she wrote: “Good luck Luca”.
Ahead of entering the villa, Luca said: “I was enjoying being in a relationship, there were just things I didn’t like and we drifted apart.”
Saying he prefers meeting people in person than online, he added: “I think when you go looking for it, it’s not as easy though, it’s like you’re too desperate for it.
“If I think you’re the one or I like you, I’ll take you out on a date but other than that, if we talk and I don’t like where it’s going – then I won’t be throwing out dates.”
Luca decided to go on the show after seeing how genuine some of the couples from previous seasons were.
He said: “When you actually look back at Love Island, you can see how many couples it’s genuinely made.
“I don’t know how many kids Love Island has made but there are a few, aren’t there?”
