Grey’s Anatomy viewers are convinced that this fan favourite is going to be killed off

Over the years, Grey's Anatomy has become known for - among many things - their heartbreaking, gut-wrenching deaths. Which has led many fans to become a bit, well, more than a bit panicked when a character is revealed to be sick - especially when it is someone they have become particularly attached to. However, the promo for the upcoming episode has fans convinced that they will be saying farewell to another familiar face- and, honestly, it would be particularly devastating.         Seriously. We mean it.      There are lots of spoilers.        It's been billed as the most powerful episode of the season - and that it's "going to get emotional." But Grey's Anatomy fans are convinced they'll be saying farewell to another beloved Grey Sloan Memorial doctor in the next episode: Dr. Catherine Fox, Jackson's mum. In the promo for the episode, which is due to air in North America on January 31, Catherine - who has a tumor growing on her spinal chord - undergoes surgery after keeping her diagnosis a secret from her husband and son. Before going under, she kisses Webber and promises him: "I'll see you when I wake up." It soon begins to seem as if things don't go too well, as one of the doctors says that if they keep going "we'll cost Catherine her life."
