They know.

Love Island fans have been wondering since the series began if the other islanders know who Gemma Owen’s famous dad is, and it turns out they absolutely do.

Speaking about why nothing has been mentioned as of yet, dumped Islander Afia Tonkmor revealed in an Instagram Q&A that the islanders knew and why nothing had been said.

Afia said: “If people do know – I did know before I went in because I watched her VT – but if they do know they don’t care, nobody really cares.

“I don’t know who he is. I know he’s a football guy. It was never, ever spoke about in my presence.”

As she said she wasn’t 100% sure if everyone knew, it has been confirmed by Ikenna himself that the islanders are fully aware Michael Owen’s daughter is among them.

Appearing on Love Island: Aftersun last night, Ikenna revealed that they all knew about Gemma’s dad from the first week in the villa.

He said: “We didn’t really know until the second or third day but I don’t think the girls knew the guys knew.”

Gemma mentioned her dad for the first time ever on the show during Saturday’s Unseen Bits when she was asked to do a celebrity impression in the Beach Hut.

She said: “Who can I do? There’s no way I’m going to do my dad, but people always do the classic, ‘If they don’t score, they don’t win.’ It’s something like that. It’s some bulls**t or whatever.”

Gemma was talking about her dad’s famous football line: “When they don’t score, they hardly ever win.”

While the islanders supposedly found out within the first week, Liam Llewellyn wasn’t aware of it during his first few and was shocked to find out after his short time in the villa.

He said: “I can’t believe who that actually was. That’s mad. I’m a Newcastle United fan. I actually have one of his tops when he came to the club!”

“That first night, we were chatting about football and her family. I was so close. I can’t believe I didn’t quite work it out.”
