Jamie Dornan has revealed that he took the sex scenes in the upcoming 50 Shades Of Grey movie very seriously and visited S&M clubs to research his character.
The actor, who will take on the role of billionaire Christian Grey, told Elle that he found it strange to return home to his family following the experience.
“I went there, they offered me a beer, and they did…whatever they were into. I saw a dominant with one of his two submissives. I was like: ‘Come on guys I know I’m not paying for this but I am expecting a show.’ It was an interesting evening. Then going back to my wife and newborn baby afterwards… I had a long shower before touching either of them.”
The film will be released on Valentine's Day 2015 and while fans of the book might be expecting some steamy stuff, The Fall actor has said that the sexual inferences will be subtle.
“You want to appeal to as wide an audience as possible without grossing them out. You don’t want to make something gratuitous, and ugly, and graphic.”
