Love Island’s Laura and Paul are doing a lot to prove they’re not splitting up

They were never together in the first place, in fairness to them.

Look, if you’re dating somebody and you want to stop dating them, you should be able to just do that.

Sit them down, send them a nice text message, fire over a carrier pigeon – whatever. You’ve no obligations to one another, it should all be easy enough.

Except it’s not if you were on Love Island together.

You see, couples from Love Island have a lot to lose if they break up so soon after the show ends.

A romantic partner is one thing. And a load of teeth whitening partnerships is another.

One couple who are certainly making sure that everybody knows that they’re still dating is Laura and Paul.

The pair met a few weeks before the show ended and, despite not even being official and seemingly have no desire to make it so, came second.

Which means that to make sure the British public don’t turn on them, they kind of have to stay together for another little while.

And when rumours are circulating about your apparent breakup there’s only one thing you can do: bombard your Instagram Stories with pictures of yourselves looking really happy.

And that’s what they’ve done.

Here’s the two of them in a taxi.

Here’s Laura shopping.

Here’s Paul carrying Laura’s bag.

Here’s Paul looking out a window.

Here’s the two of them walking.

You get the idea.

This comes after not much content depicting Laura and Paul hanging out was appearing on either of the pair’s social media accounts.

And in fairness to them, they do live pretty far away so it’s unlikely that they’re going to be spending every waking moment together.

Well, like, Jack and Dani and Megan and Wes are… But yeah whatever, these two totally deserved to come second.
