Love Island tease a ‘BIG announcement’ about this year’s series is on the way

The countdown to Love Island is officially on.

The new season of Love Island is almost here.

And we’re definitely ready for another summer of conversations about being mugged off, coupling up and who is (or isn’t) 100 per cent someone’s type on paper.

With the new season of Love Island set to kick off on June 3, there are new a few details emerging about what fans can expect this season.

The names of a number of possible Islanders have already been released – including Big Brother’s Lotan Carter and Rochelle Humes’ younger sister, Soph Piper. And we’ve already gotten our first look at the Love Island villa for this year.

But it turns out there’s another big Love Island announcement on the way very, VERY soon.

ITV2 took to Twitter on Saturday morning, urging fans of the reality TV show to “get the group chat ready” as there’s a “BIG announcement coming here on Monday.”

They also shared a video which said:

“Oi Twitter. We have Love Island goss.”

Fans of the show took to Twitter to wonder about what the big announcement could be – and many reckon we’ll be getting our first glimpse of this year’s Islanders on Monday.

“Ooooh reckon they’re announcing who’s going on?!” one person wrote.

“I bet it’s the line-up – which they’ve never released early,” another added.

Considering Monday is a week from the series’ officially launch date, it would definitely make sense from them to announce the Islanders soon.

However, it looks like there may be a big change to the series this year – as Casa Amor (the divisive second villa) may be scrapped in favour of bigger and newer twists.
