It looks SO good.

As the arrival date for the second season of the hugely popular period series Bridgerton inches closer and closer, Netflix, by way of Lady Whistledown, has given viewers a glimpse of what to expect.

Last night, the streaming platform shared six pictures from the upcoming series, and it looks just as sumptuous as season one. In them, we see Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) having a chat with Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) and Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) out for a hunt with Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson), and Jack (Rupert Young).

They also unveiled a stunning portrait of all the Featheringtons (Bessie Carter, Polly Walker, Harriet Cains and Nicola Coughlan), and of the Sharmas (Simone Ashley and Charithra Chandran). We’ve also been given a glimpse of  the regal Golda Rosheuvel as Queen Charlotte, and of the Bridgerton boys (Luke Newton, Luke Thompson and Jonathan Bailey) fencing.

Netflix also released a statement outlining the key plot points for season two.

It read: “The second season of Bridgerton follows Lord Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), the eldest Bridgerton sibling and Viscount, as he sets out to find a suitable wife.

“Driven by his duty to uphold the family name, Anthony’s search for a debutante who meets his impossible standards seems ill-fated until Kate (Simone Ashley) and her younger sister Edwina (Charithra Chandran) Sharma arrive from India.

“When Anthony begins to court Edwina, Kate discovers the true nature of his intentions – a true love match is not high on his priority list – and decides to do everything in her power to stop the union.

“But in doing so, Kate and Anthony’s verbal sparring matches only bring them closer together, complicating matters on both sides.”

The statement also gave viewers a much-needed update on the Featherington clan.

They said: “Across Grosvenor Square, the Featheringtons must welcome the newest heir to their estate while Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) continues to navigate the ton whilst keeping her deepest secret from the people closest to her.”

Bridgerton returns to Netflix on 25 March.
