Sarah Jessica Parker has some good news about the rumoured Hocus Pocus sequel

Keeley Ryan

Last month, it emerged that a Hocus Pocus sequel was in development.

Released in July 1993 (yes, 26 years ago and yes, for whatever reason, not released at Halloween), Hocus Pocus wasn’t actually considered much of a hit at the time.

However, that didn’t stop it from becoming a massive cult classic in the intervening years. And ever since, fans have been hoping some Hollywood magic would take place to get that long-delayed sequel.

And now that there are reports that a sequel is finally being developed, fans have been hoping to see the original Sanderson sisters –  Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker  and Kathy Najimy – reprise their roles.

Well, SJP has some good news for fans: it turns out that all the original Hocus Pocus OG’s have already said yes to the sequel.

Underneath her post celebrating Hallowe’en (a photo of the Sanderson sisters, naturally), one fan asked her if there was hope for a sequel.

“We have all said yes,” SJP told them. “Now we wait.”

Hocus Pocus tells the story of a curious 17 year old Max who struggles to fit into spooky Salem before awakening a trio of diabolical witches – the Sanderson Sisters.

From Binx the cat, to Billy the zombie ex (and let’s not forget the creepy book),we just can’t get enough of it.
