Season two of You without Joe’s voiceover is beyond creepy

Keeley Ryan

Season two of You without Joe’s voiceover is beyond creepy.

The highly-anticipated second season of the thriller hit Netflix back on St. Stephen’s Day and, if we’re being totally honest, we binged right through it.

Joe Goldberg  moved to LA, took up the name Will Bettleheim, and – it’s fairly safe to say – has brought murder, mayhem and chaos with him to the west coast.

Oh, and he falls for someone new: Love Quinn.

One thing that has stayed the same since season one, though, is Joe’s voiceover – which features just as much in Los Angeles as it did in New York.

And in case you’ve been wondering what the series would be like without that voiceover (hey, no judgement here), we have some good news: Netflix have come up with a solution for that.

The streaming service took to Twitter to put a few of the big scenes from season two together, without Joe’s voiceover playing over the top.

Just be warned – it’s even creepier, somehow (oh, and there are some minor spoilers for the series).

Caroline Kepnes, the author of You and Hidden Bodies (the book season two is based on), recently spoke to us about the Netflix hit – and what’s next for Joe in the third You book.

“A friend of a friend was just reading You and he called it Taxi Driver meets When Harry Met Sally,” Kepnes explained, as she told us about the inspiration behind her hit series. “It’s been six years since I wrote that book and it was like oh. There it is! That’s my creative aesthetic.”
