Things have been pretty tame on Love Island so far. OK yeah, Adam has been gaslighting Rosie, Alex has gotten increasingly red, and Eyal and Megan literally had sex the other night but whatever. Pretty tame. It turns out too that the show's producers are desperately trying to shake things up whatever way they can because apparently they've been in touch with some of the contestant's exes. And there's only one reason why Love Island producers would be in touch with you - to get you in the villa. The Sun reports that some of the exes in question have got "axes to grind" when it comes to their past lovers. Oh dear. A source told the publication:

“Bosses know everything about the stars that are on the show and they’re open about their relationship history. There have been messy break-ups and some of the exes have got axes to grind, so sometimes they get in touch with bosses.

“For the past few weeks there have been lots of discussions whose exes would make good TV and who would make the most impact. They are being lined up and talked up.”

Intense. Another source said that while nothing has been confirmed just yet, it's not entirely outside of the realm of possibility seeing as the show has pulled this kind of twist before.

They said: 

“Nothing has been decided but it is something that has been on the table for a while and could happen later in this series.

“It’s happened before on the show so there’s nothing to say it wouldn’t happen again.”

We hope it does. We really hope it does. Imagine Laura having to deal with former boyfriend star Dane Bowers being in there with her (yes they did date, we know, we're all shocked as you are). Imagine.
