The first trailer for Netflix’s uplifting new mystery, Good Sam, is here

Keeley Ryan

Netflix have shared the first look at its heartwarming and uplifting new mystery, Good Sam.

It follows Kate Bradley, a TV reporter in New York City who is stuck on the “bummer beat” – reporting on fires, car crashes, riots and other similar events.

Basically, she’s the actual bearer of bad news.

However, that all changes when a mystery Good Samaritan – aka, Good Sam – begins to leave $100,000 cash on random doorsteps across the city.

Determined to remain objective, Kate sets out to try and find out the truth about Good Sam.

“It’s hard to believe there’s someone out there doing good deeds and expecting nothing in return,” she tells one of her co-workers.

As the word of Good Sam’s generosity spreads, a wave of random acts of generosity washes over New York City – and crushes Kate’s scepticism about Good Sam.

Both Kate’s worldview and her personal life are turned upside down as she realises that Good Sam may actually be doing good.

The movie is based on the book of the same name by Dete Meserve, and will be available to stream on Netflix on May 16.

In the meantime, you can check out the trailer below.
