The Society has finally landed on Netflix and that’s our Saturday night sorted

“If you hear this, please come find us.”

There’s no denying that Netflix have really been on top of their game this year.

From Russian Doll to Dirty John; Velvet Buzzsaw to FYRE, there has been no shortage of new documentaries, TV series or films to watch.

And this weekend is no exception, after The Society landed on Netflix on Friday.

Basically, it is about a group of young adults who find themselves transported to New Ham, a town in New England that is – in every way – identical to the one they grew up in.

Only now, they are alone – both in the town and on the edge of a vast continent that seems very much like what the first Europeans might have called the “New World.”

The Society is a modern retelling of the Lord of the Flies tale – this time with near-adults and with no magic to save them.

They will either succeed by remaking the social order or they will perish by each other’s hands.

And while the series only came out yesterday, viewers are already hooked – with some already hoping for a season 2 on the way.

Netflix have shared the first look at their unsettling new film, The Perfection.

But if you’re looking for something a bit lighter, The Last Summer – the streaming service’s latest romantic comedy – will also be out in May.
