There’s a winking baby sloth on the block and can you handle how cute he is?

There's a winking baby sloth on the block and can you handle how cute he is?

Ah, would you LOOK!

We’ve not yet reached hump day and like us, you’re probably a bit tired and could do with a pick-me-up. Enter: baby sloth winking.

To borrow Doireann Garrihy’s mother, Clare’s phrase, it’s “a little bit of heaven without having to die.”

The little guy is the first baby sloth to be born at Brevard Zoo in Florida. Last month, they temporarily took in 300 washback turtles when Hurricane Leslie hit and damaged their habitat. And now they’re saving baby sloths.

The yet unnamed youngster was sadly abandoned by its mother as the Zoo sadly stated:

“First time mom Tango wasn’t interested in the newborn.”

As a result, the sloth is being hand-reared by staff and requires round-the-clock care, including feeding every 2.5 hours.

The sex of the baby sloth has yet to be determined so until then we’ll have to wait for a name reveal. The latest video posted by the Zoo is of the animal being bottle fed…and we can’t cope.

The clip is captioned, “This is the tiniest milk moustache you’ll ever see” and, as expected, people have lost the plot in the comment section.

One person joked that the sloth was “milk wasted” while another keenly offered to help with its care. And the little dote is even getting people in trouble at work:

“I just squealed at work so loud hahahaha so freaking cuutteee.”

You can keep up to date on the sloth’s progress by searching #SlothBabyChronicles, but don’t blame us if you get in trouble at work!
