Yeow.

We know, we know, it’s only August but if Brown Thomas can start their Christmas display, we can start talking about the Late Late Toy Show.

It’s only fair.

Whatever, regardless as to whether you want to hear about it yet or not, there’s been a bit of an update on what this year’s Toy Show is going to be like, and apparently, it’s going to be unlike anything we’ve ever seen before.

Unreal.

Speaking on his show on RTE Radio 1, Tubs said that Toy Show 2018 is “probably going to be the biggest one we’ve ever done.”

He went on. “It’s going to be huge,” he said. “It is going to be particularly enormous. And I look forward to that.”

Particularly enormous, you say? Sounds good to us.

The Late Late Toy Show is a particular staple of Irish TV, drawing thousands of loyal viewers every year and even more thousands of tweets at the hands of people who like to pretend they hate it but really simply cannot look away.

It was also announced this week at RTE’s season launch that there is going to be a special live recording of the regular Late Late Show from London later this year.

Tubridy said that Ireland would be “reaching out in the truest sense of the world” by bringing the show across the sea.

He said:

“Look, don’t mind that. Annoying and all as it is, and important and all as it is, the Brexit thing. We still have too much not to be friends and allies and acquaintances and business partners.”
