Not long until the #banter commences

As you are no doubt aware, from 9pm tonight a villa in Sant Llorenc des Cardassar, Majorca, will play host to eight weeks of reality television. Yes, you better believe that Love Island is about to begin just a week after the 2018 contestants were revealed. The series will be the longest running ever and has had new regulations introduced, including a ban on smoking on camera and a set of "sex rules." And we now know the first twist that the 11 people grafting their way to a 50k prize will be subject to. In some ways, the twist has been hiding in plain sight since, y'know, 11 is an odd number and odd numbers ain't divisible by two. In the most recent trailer show presenter Caroline Flack announced that in order to stay in a couple, the boys must win over the affections of their would-be partners - with the sixth boy stealing one of the girls in just 24 hours time.
