There’s a Pat Phelan storyline coming up on Corrie next week

Phelan to use Bethany to get at Gary in Coronation Street

Yes, you did read that correctly.

And no, it isn’y early-to-mid 2018 but you’d be forgiven for thinking that it was.

Pat Phelan met his end in June of this year after months upon months of him killing people, doing shady and questionable shit, and essentially never getting caught.

At one point he even swam to Ireland, like it was a regular and normal thing for a human being to do.

Bizarre.

Anyway, everybody in the world was of course delighted when they discovered that Phelan would be no more, his reign of terror was over, and that we’d never have to speak of him again.

That was, until, next week because everyone’s least favourite villain is still worming his way onto the streets of Weatherfield causing misery and confusion wherever he goes.

Don’t worry though, it’s not actual Phelan returning from beyond the grave – that would be ridiculous!

Rather, it’s Phelan taunting Eileen from beyond the grave… in the form of a wad of cash she finds that used to belong to him.

Grim enough.

According to Digital Spy, Seb will find a load of money Phelan had conned somebody out of, that he then stashed in number 11.

Unsure of what to do with the cash, Seb goes to Eileen, who is then left with the daunting task of figuring out what to do with the dirty money, all the while dealing with the fresh memories of her husband’s dealings.

Not an ideal night in, to be fair.

This comes after Corrie actor James Burrows, who plays Ali Neeson, hinted that his character could become a bit of a Phelan over the next few months.

Last month, Ali brutally murdered Ronan to protect his family, but Burrows has said there might not be a whole lot stopping the GP from killing again.

He said:

“He’s not coping very well at the minute.

“I don’t know what they’ve got planned for me in the future, but I’d like to say Ali could put the murder to the back of his mind and move forward.

“But who knows with Coronation Street? I might be going back there and they’ll tell me I’m the new Phelan.”

The scenes with Eileen and Seb will air next week.
