Fair play to her.

The Only Way is Essex’s Georgia Kousoulou was praised this week after she sparked a body positive conversation urging women to “own” their stretch marks.

The 26 year old shared the quote on Instagram and admitted she was “a little shocked” after seeing the stretch marks  – but that decided to embrace them.

She wrote:

“Girls take note.

“Trying on swimwear & noticing stretch marks on my booty & thinking us girls need to own it. Not hide it. It’s a natural thing!

“Iv never had them on my booty until now so at first I was a little shocked but than I saw this quote & it made me realise .. let’s own it!

“Girls embrace what you have & feel confident in your skin. #girlpower”

And plenty of people took to the comments to thank the TV star for her honesty.

One person said:

“Love love love this. Thank you for being the inspiration and encouragement we all need.”

Another wrote:

“I call them my mummy stripes!!

“So so worth it as I have two amazing little people in my life!! I may have these and they may not be beautiful to others but all I gotta do is look at my two cheeky monkeys and know they were worth it!!”

A different person added:

“I needed to see this today @georgiakousoulou thank you for the inspiration!

“So conscious of my stretch marks on my legs and my cellulite, constantly comparing my body to other people and feeling body unconfident.

“There is too much pressure on people to have the ‘perfect body’ but there can’t be one as everybody’s body is different.

“I need to #lovemybody! #girlpower.”

Meanwhile, another said:

“This post will probably do more for the vast majority of girls that follow you than anything else.

“So great that you are spreading this message!”

A different social media user chimed in:

“It’s really refreshing and so important when women in the spotlight like yourself say it as it is.

“There is so much pressure on young girls today seeing pictures of perfect bodies in magazines left right and centre not knowing that most of them actually don’t look like that in real life.

“As a mum of 3 when my children ask me about my stretch marks I say it’s my medal for having 3 beautiful little munchkins.”
