Vogue Williams’ throwback pic is all of us circa 2007

'The state of me.'

Anna O'Rourke

This is oddly comforting.

It’s a fact of life that Vogue Williams is quite a good looking person. It’s kind of a given, after all – as a model she literally poses for photos for a living.

Still, it’s nice to know that she’s not immune to cringing when she sees a dodgy old picture of herself.

Taking to Instagram this week, Vogue shared a throwback snap of her from a few years back that any Irish girl who was alive in the noughties will relate to on a spiritual level.

Behold.

The side fringe, the dangly earrings, the sweep of silver eyeshadow – if you hit a teen disco at any stage between 2004 and 2009, you likely rocked a look very similar to this, coupled with a rara skirt and tastefully accessorised with a digital camera dangling from your wrist.

The image is basically a portal into a world that no longer exists.

Joking aside, Vogue also opened up recently about dealing with her anxiety, saying social media has contributed to her struggle.

“It is horrible. Sometimes I wouldn’t want to go out. I keep myself to myself and I am not one for going out with huge groups of people any more,” she told the Mirror.

“It doesn’t discriminate – so many people have it. Social media is putting so much pressure on, and it leaves you never feeling good enough. It is the world we live in now.”
