We're now merely weeks away from the highly anticipated second season of Bridgerton, and Netflix have well and truly whet our appetites with a full, official trailer.
In it, the familiar tones of Lady Whistledown gives us a glimpse of what to expect.
She tells us: "Dearest reader. It has been said that competition is an opportunity for us to rise before our greatest challenges."
We then see the introduction of season two's main plot point, which is Anthony Bridgerton's (Jonathan Bailey) quest to find a suitable wife.
The trailer also introduces us to the newest arrivals to the 'ton, the Sharma sisters, Kate (Simone Ashley) and Edwina (Charithra Chandran).
Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor), meanwhile, is adjusting to motherhood, and offers her two cents on the matter, saying: "Anthony needs all the help he can get."
What's more, we can also expect plenty of drama, scandal and hijinks as tensions are high in the 'ton.
The official synopsis from Netflix breaks down all the (high) tea on the upcoming series.
It reads: "When Anthony begins to court Edwina, Kate discovers the true nature of his intentions — a true love match is not high on his priority list — and decides to do everything in her power to stop the union. But in doing so, Kate and Anthony’s verbal sparring matches only bring them closer together, complicating matters on both sides."
But that's not all. The upcoming season will also see drama at the Featheringtons, while Penelope adjusts to the pressure of guarding her secret.
The synopsis continues: "Across Grosvenor Square, the Featheringtons must welcome the newest heir to their estate while Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) continues to navigate the ton whilst keeping her deepest secret from the people closest to her.
Bridgerton season 2 lands on Netflix on 25 March.
