Down to Earth

Zac Efron AND sustainability? We’re sold.

Ever since Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, we’ve been waiting calmly (okay, not so calmly) for Zac Efron’s next role. And here it is.

Except it’s not a role, per se. This is a travel documentary series created by Netflix that will follow Zac Efron and wellness expert Darin Olien as they travel around the world to places like France, Puerto Rico, Lima, Sardina, and more to learn all about sustainable living and the different ways that people are living sustainably.

“We are travelling around the world to find some new perspectives on some very old problems,” Zac says. “Food, water, and energy are all the main staples for modern life. We’re going to meet some top eco innovators to see how change is an inside job. And we’re going to be eating really, really well.”

They eat delicious fruit, carbs, and, according to the trailer, dung-smoked food that apparently doesn’t taste like dung? Rather him than us on that one tbh… But we’ll happily watch it.

“We need to start rethinking how we consume everything from our food to our power. Change has to start somewhere. Maybe it’s time we all change. It’s time to get down to earth.”

The series looks fantastic and includes pretty much everything that we like: good food, sustainability, eco-friendly resources, and Zac Efron.

The series is called Down To Earth and will premiere on Netflix this July 10. Check out the trailer to see what to expect.
